QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything about booking, delivery, safety and each equipment category — in one place.

General & Booking

Do you provide a technician to operate the equipment?

Yes. Fire, gas and effects equipment — fog, cold pyro, CO2 jets, dry ice, lasers — is always operated by our trained technician through your event, never handed to guests or venue staff.

What is the minimum rental period?

Most bookings are for a single event slot of 4-5 hours. Multi-day rentals for weddings, exhibitions and corporate events are available at a lower per-day rate.

Do you deliver outside Mumbai?

Yes, we regularly service venues across Mumbai, Thane, and Navi Mumbai. Delivery charges outside the immediate Santacruz-Bandra-Andheri belt depend on distance and are confirmed at booking.

Is a security deposit required?

A refundable security deposit applies to select equipment and is returned in full after the event once checked back in undamaged.

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking 5-7 days ahead, especially for weekend dates and the wedding season. Last-minute bookings are handled case-by-case depending on stock availability.

What happens if equipment is damaged during the event?

Since our technician operates fire/gas equipment for the full event, damage from normal use isn't charged to you. For equipment handed over for independent use, replacement cost is adjusted against the security deposit.

Walkie Talkie

Do I need a licence to use these walkie talkies?

No. Our handsets run on licence-free frequencies meant for short-range use, so you can rent and use them without applying for any individual wireless licence.

What is the range of your walkie talkies?

In open, line-of-sight areas the range is typically up to 3-5 km. Indoors, expect roughly 500 metres to 1 km depending on walls and floors.

What happens if a handset is lost or damaged?

Replacement or repair cost for a lost or damaged handset is adjusted against the security deposit. Normal wear from regular use is not charged.

Talkback System

What is a wireless talkback system used for?

A talkback system lets your stage manager, director, DP, and crew stay on a live open line during a shoot or show — no shouting across a set or venue.

Is it full-duplex, like a real conversation?

Yes. Unlike a walkie talkie where only one person can talk at a time, this is full-duplex — everyone can talk and listen simultaneously, just like a phone call.

How many crew members can use one system?

Our Hollyland Solidcom units support full-duplex communication for 8 or more crew members on a single base, with additional headsets available for larger teams.

Clear Com

Does cold pyro produce heat or smoke smell?
